Bath Spa University Department of Music presents Purcell’s vivid and beautiful music from the ‘semi-opera’, King Arthur. The opera centres on King Arthur’s endeavours to rescue his fiancée, Princess Emmeline, who has been abducted in a war between the Britons and the Saxons.
This work includes some of Purcell’s finest music, with wonderful depictions of the emotions and scenery created from daring instrumental and harmonic techniques. BSU’s young singers are building a tremendous reputation for their talents and the Department’s annual opera performance is always a sell-out – book your tickets early!
