The Centre for Musical Research brings together the work of our staff and postgraduate students to create a supportive environment for the development of research within the Department. It organises a series of research fora and performance events, drawing on work undertaken by its participants, and external practitioners. It co-ordinates research activity within the Department, from individual work to large scale projects. In the recent Research Assessment Exercise, 80% of the work submitted in Music was recognised internationally in terms of originality, significance and rigour, with 10% judged as being world-leading.
